First Light Technologies specializes in the design and manufacture of architectural-quality, integrated solar-powered LED lighting products for pedestrian applications. With extensive experience in solar power systems and LED lighting, First Light strives to make solar lighting effective, more efficient, and simple to use.
Our solar lighting products adapt to the unique condition of each setting where they are installed - they are intelligent, adaptive, efficient, and robust. Designed to perform nearly anywhere the sun shines, they are a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to costly and less environmentally friendly solutions.
First Light Technologies is a privately held company based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Individually and collectively, it is ingrained in our culture to strive to make the world a better place to live through our efforts. By engineering and manufacturing solar lighting solutions that are more cost-effective and have a smaller carbon footprint vs. conventional hardwired lighting, we believe that end users' needs are better met, and the state of the environment is no longer a lesser consideration.

| | Justin Taverna has been involved in solar power system design and project management for over ten years. Justin has played a key role in the specification, design and implementation of commercial off-grid and grid-tie power system projects around the world. He has also been a Product Manager for solar power systems and solar powered traffic flashing beacons. Mr. Taverna holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree from Montana State University and a Bachelor of Physics Degree from Wheeling Jesuit University. |
| | Sean Bourquin has over ten years experience in the design of embedded systems for a wide range of high reliability applications. He has also been involved in the design, development, and product advancement of off-grid solar powered LED lighting for over five years. Sean played a key role in the development of solar LED area lighting products, and has been a Design Engineer, Sales Engineer and Product Manager for solar powered LED lighting products. Mr. Bourquin holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering Degree from the University of Victoria as well as a Diploma of Technology in Electronics Engineering from Camosun College. |
| | Dr. David R. Green is a professional engineer with broad experience across several disciplines of engineering in creating products for industrial and commercial applications. He trained in physics and as an interdisciplinary scientist and worked in a university environment for three years. Dr. Green also has two decades of experience founding and managing technology companies, privately held, venture-backed, and public. Certified as a Director by Institute of Corporate Directors, Dr. Green has many years experience as Chairman and director of both public and venture-backed technology corporations. |
