As you may have guessed, Jeffersonville adopted its name in honor of Thomas Jefferson back in 1801 – the year he took office. The city is situated on the southern border of Indiana, directly across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky.
“They turned out great. A lot of positive feedback!”
The city of Jeffersonville chose First Light’s SCL2 solar luminaires and PLB solar bollards to illuminate the parking lot and pathway of Colston Memorial Park. Located on the grounds of a former cemetery, the memorial park remains the final resting place of U.S. military veterans who fought in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, War of 1812, and the Mexican-American war.
Choosing to go solar allowed the municipal government to save substantial time and taxpayer money by avoiding trenching and wiring costs.
