Willis Point, located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, is a small rural community on the edge of the pacific ocean and is surrounded by many hiking and biking trails. The community of approximately 150 homes has one of the oldest volunteer fire departments on Vancouver Island, the Willis Point Volunteer Fire Department.
An SCL2 Series solar luminaire is the newest addition to a once dark water cistern area where the volunteer fire crews previously relied on fire engine lighting to get their tanks filled up. With ample, quality illumination, fire crews can now safely and efficiently fill their tanks and be ready for the next call.
